The Victoria “Registered” and “Too Late” stamps were the first to be issued anywhere, and are among the first bi-coloured surface-printed stamps to be issued. The author deals in great detail with the difficult technical aspects of the stamps, and the text is enhanced by ten pages of fine black & white photo-plates which are also reproduced in loose form at the rear of the book.
